Past Hickok Belt Award ® winners are truly a select group – a veritable who’s who of sports icons. The award has celebrated the incredible careers of leading figures throughout sports. BobTurley (1958)

“Bullet Bob” Turley posted a career record of 101-85 with a 3.64 earned run average during a big-league career. His best season occurred in 1958 when he went 21-7 and was responsible for the New York Yankees coming back from a three-games-to-one deficit against the Milwaukee Braves to win the World Series. Turley pitched a shutout in Game Five, picked up a save in Game Six and won the decisive Game Seven with six and two-thirds innings of two-hit relief. Turley enjoyed great success in his post baseball career as a representative for Primerica Financial Services. He was born September 19, 1930 in Troy, Illinois.
